Salma Hayek is speaking out about the controversy surrounding Hilaria Baldwin after she was accused of misrepresenting her heritage. The Like a Boss star, 54, addressed the situation on Monday during her appearance on SiriusXM's Radio Andy, calling the buzz around the Mom Brain podcast host, 37, crazy.
Apparently, all of Salma Hayek’s friends asked her what she thought about this, they couldn't believe she lied about a thing like this. But the actress admitted that we all lie a little bit. Salma Hayek, who worked with Hilaria's husband Alec Baldwin on 30 Rock in 2009, went on to say that she won't judge the mom of five because she makes her friend happy.
Salma Hayek, who was born in Mexico, explained that she fooled her because she's such a good mother. She said she just doesn't care. She doesn't mean to betray or hurt anybody's feelings, and she doesn’t know if it's right or if it's wrong, but she’s not going to judge somebody just because of that one thing.
The actress added that she feels honored somebody would want their alter ego to be something that is similar to her roots. It makes Salma Hayek feel proud that people are inspired, as she’s Mexican-Lebanese, but her grandparents are Spanish. And she also thinks she's smart to want to be Spanish. Why? Because Spanish people are cool!
She admitted it is indeed a bizarre story, but don't we all create our own character in life? Salma Hayek continued saying that this might be extreme, but she's not a bad person. In her interview with Andy Cohen, Salma Hayek called Hilaria Baldwin a good person, a good mother and a good wife.
