Adam Sandler: Returns to IHOP for a really sweet revenge

Adam Sandler returns to IHOP to surprise the hostess who turned him away. Learn more here!

Adam Sandler returned to the infamous IHOP location on Monday to surprise the hostess who didn’t recognize him in a viral TikTok. On Monday, the 54-year-old posed wearing IHOP face masks with hostess Dayanna Rodas, who captioned the video, “Couldn’t have been more excited!! Thank you Adam Sandler!” IHOP is, of course, the famous pancake house.

Rodas’ Videofirst went viral on TikTok and showed her turning Adam Sandler away from the busy restaurant when she failed to recognize the star. “Pleaseee come back,” the 17-year-old begged in the caption of her TikTok, which showed security camera footage of the hilarious April 25 encounter.

She explained, “Not realizing its Adam Sandler and telling him its a 30min wait and him [of course] leaving [because] he's not going to wait 30mins for IHOP.” The embarrassed teen later said: “It wasn’t until a customer walked in about 15 minutes later saying, ‘Adam Sandler was outside,’ when I realized I spoke to Adam Sandler!”

The celebrity, who came from Saturday Night Live and did great movies such as Funny People, Wedding Singer, Hotel Transylvania, Uncut Gems, and Billy Madison, easily blended into the crowd wearing a sweatshirt, sneakers and shorts—and obviously covering half his face with a mask.

A good cause

Adam Sandler returned to the Long Island location for Milkshake Monday, a charity event that was inspired by the actor’s tweet. “For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes,” he wrote on May 3.

The restaurant also offered all-you-can-drink milkshakes at its 19 Long Island stores in honor of Adam Sandler’s tweet. The comedian, who is married to Jackie Sandler, shared a photo from the event of his English Bulldog Babu, captioned “Thank u IHOP for Milkshake Monday.”

The promotion donated $ for every IHOP milkshake that was purchased on Monday to the nonprofit Comedy Gives Back, which supports the comedy community with mental health support. Milshake sold up to $50,000!
