Seventeen Magazine issued an apology on Friday, saying it had briefly published a story with information believed to have come from the actress. In a statement, the magazine said that it was brought to their attention that the person who contacted them was, in fact, an impersonator and had no connection to the Riverdale star Lili Reinhart.
They sincerely apologized to Lili Reinhart and her fans for this unfortunate situation. The magazine scrapped the article from its site and said it would be internally reviewing their editorial and fact-checking processes to ensure something like this does not happen again.
Lili Reinhart, 24, addressed the weird situation in her Instagram story on Saturday, writing: “For some bizarre reason, someone impersonated me in an interview with @seventeen. Nothing inappropriate was said, but those were not my words and I wanted to address it.”
