MacKenzie Scott, who integrates the Forbe's World's Billionaires list since last year, has now given away 2.7 billion dollars to nonprofit organizations. The philanthropist announced it on Medium (read her emotional post clicking in here), expressing her intention to give the forgotten a voice through a $2,739,000 donation inverted in gifts to 286 "high-impact organizations in categories and communities that have been historically underfunded and overlooked".

"People struggling against inequities deserve center stage in stories about change they are creating. This is equally -perhaps especially- true when their work is funded by wealth", starts Scott saying in her post.
Education institutes for young kids, organizations fighting against ethnic and religious discrimination, arts and cultural institutions, fostering empathy, lowering crime rates, advancing economic mobility, and improving mental health were some of the purposes of the inversion and the selected causes to receive donations.
"Because community-centered service is such a powerful multiplier, we spent the first quarter of 2021 identifying and evaluating equity-oriented non-profit teams working in areas that have been neglected", added Scott.
Since her divorce from Bezos in 2019, the American novelist decided to dedicate herself to philanthropy and has donated a vast part of her fortune to different charity causes going from $40 million destined to two universities in Florida to $4.2 million given away to food banks and emergency relief founds.
According to Forbes, Scott gave away almost 6 billion dollars last year but she's still the wealthiest woman on earth after receiving a 4% stake in Amazon and her fortune keeps rising since shares of the company's stock rose during the pandemic.
