Matthew Perry got emotional on “Friends: The Reunion” and was comforted by co-star Jennifer Aniston in a new trailer for the highly anticipated HBO Max reunion. The actor who played Chandler Bing on the iconic NBC series, is seen reminiscing on set and admitted, “I’m going to cry now,” with the actress that played Rachel Green putting her hand on his shoulder.
An episode of the sitcom focused on Matthew Perry’s character and his inability to cry. One of the 51-year-old actor’s recent appearances promoting the show sparked concern Wednesday from fans.
The 51-year-old actor appeared to slur his words in a clip posted Wednesday to People magazine’s website. In the concerning clip, Matthew Perry was talking about taking pieces from the set as souvenirs. “I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it,” Perry said, with a “sh” appearing to be pronounced at the beginning of the phrase.
The star has long been open about his struggles with addiction and fans noted his odd appearance on the reunion. The “Friends” reunion, which was taped in April, is set to premiere on HBO Max next week. In addition to Perry and Aniston, 52, veterans David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow are all returning.
