THe musician and the actress had a long term friendship

The musician who was a founding member of the bands The Byrds and Crosby and Still & Nash, time go spoke openly about overcoming addiction. During an interview he talked about how his family and the actress Drew Barrymore met. 
"We knew her because we were in recovery at that time. We were going to meetings probably three times a week and totally sober," Crosby explained to Stern.

Drew Barrymore started her career when she was a baby, the reason why she easily became a Hollywood fame victim. He started consuming alcohol and drugs until she was a child so, when she was 12 years old she had a big trouble with addiction.
 

This is how Crosby saves Drew 

When the E.T. co-star was going out of the rehabilitation center, he noticed that "She was in a facility that was run by a friend of ours, and his couple and him decided they had to do something to save her. So they adopted Barrymore for two months while she battled her parents’ emancipation. 


"We took her to school in the morning and tried to be a good influence. I think we were kind and loving, and it felt good to do," he expressed. Thanks to this act, the actress and the musician started a friendship that would see the final until Crosby’s death.
