Mary-Kate Olsen and her husband of nearly six years Pierre Olivier Sarkozy are one step closer to finalizing their divorce. The actress turned fashion designer, 34, and the 51-year-old businessman, whose split became public in May 2020, met, along with their respective attorneys, during a virtual hearing over Zoom on January 13.
Pierre Olivier Sarkozy told lawyer Michael Mosberg told New York Judge Lori Sattler during the video hearing that they have reached a final agreement. Mary-Kate Olsen’s lawyer, Nancy Chemtob echoed Michael Mosberg’s later quotes. She said that all issues are resolved.
During the virtual hearing, Judge Lori Sattler asked both parties whether there were “any issues” that needed to be discussed in court. When both parties declined, Judge Lori Sattler said in part that she’s going to keep control of the case, so they make sure that this gets done and they get them divorced.
Mary-Kate Olsen initially filed for divorce from the French banker in mid-May of 2020. At the time, the former Full House star requested an emergency court order after signing a divorce petition on April 17.
Mary-Kate Olsen’s original divorce filing was later denied, as the court declared the matter as non-essential. She was able to file for divorce on May 25, which marked the date that the New York courts re-opened.
