The singer grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana at 14550 Greenlaw Church Road in a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom ranch house, which sold this week for $275,000, according to Redfin.
The house has green striped wallpaper, ’70s-style wood paneling, ceiling fans, granite countertops, a wood-burning fireplace and a two-car garage, according to the listing. It’s the same home that was featured in Rolling Stone’s 1999 feature “Inside the Heart and Mind (and Bedroom) of Britney.”
According to the feature, the hallways were lined with photos, and her “tiny” bedroom was “awash in floral patterns and frills” with throw cushions and pale-faced dolls. But when she was home, Britney Spears would sleep in her mother’s bed, out of fear from fans stalking her, journalist Steven Daly wrote.
The only unusual thing about the property, built in 1979, is a metal building studio “that has endless possibilities from a dance studio or office area,” according to the listing. The space served as a local gym called Total Fitness by Jamie Spears, according to Dirt.
The two-acre property also has two metal storage buildings, one spanning 2,400 square feet and the other at 500 square feet, according to the listing. The seller of the 2,299-square-foot brick home was none other than Brintey Spears’ father, James (more widely known as Jamie), when it was listed for $289,000 in June 2020, according to property records.
The house sold to an unknown buyer on February 5, according to Redfin, the same day the New York Times released the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” on FX and Hulu. Meanwhile, Britney Spears ves in a $7.4 million mansion, The Post previously reported.
