The constant rumor of a third Princess Diaries has kept fans of the franchise waiting, although things could take a different course than expected according to Julie Andrews' last comment when asked if there are still chances of seeing her again as part of the royal family of Genovia. Do this mean for us to lose all hope?

Though fans have been patiently waiting since 2004 when the sequel came up for a third Princess Diaries movie, the legendary actress from “The rebel novice” believes the rumored Disney follow-up will most likely never happen. "I think it would be too late to do it now," she shared with The Hollywood Reporter on June 8th.

More news:

A few years ago, there where still signs of a possiblity to make the third movie happened. Anne Hathaway even confirmed there was “a script for the third movie” during an episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. "I want to do it," the actress said in June 2019, replying to a fan's question during the show.

So the fans were feeded and mantain high hopes for quite sometime now. “There was talk of a sequel many, many years ago. But I don't think it ever came to pass”. Also, acknowledging that the director of the first two films, Garry Marshall, died in 2016, she added, “And Garry then did leave us". But still, franchises changes directors.

Would a new director be enough?

We seriously doubted it. Chris Pine, also asked about the subjet, said that he would do it for sure, but just because “how much hair” he had then. The rest of the cast, Heather Matarazzo, Mandy Moore, Erik von Detten, Hector Elizondo and Sandra Oh haven't say a thing nor shown any interest in the project. Hathaway fooled us all.
