Ricky Martin is facing another sexual assault complaint by his nephew Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martin, following a filing on Friday 10th in San Juan, Puerto Rico, less than a week after he sued him for $20million due to his claims made about being a  involved in a incest relationship with the singer when he was a minor.

Previously, on Martin had been accused by his nephew of domestic abuse and a restraining order had been granted but was later dismissed. Martin, who is currently filming the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Mrs. American Pie”, recently sued his nephew for $20 million over his attempts to “assassinate” his reputation.

Martin claims to have suffered losses of $10million worth of canceled contracts and projects, and $20m worth of damage to his reputation due to the allegations. They have also reportedly left the star and his family feeling ‘unsafe in Puerto Rico’ where they primarily live, according to the complaint presented in court.  

In a statement obtained by Deadline, Martin’s legal team strongly denied the allegations, commenting: ‘These claims are wildly offensive and completely untethered from reality. When this man previously made similar allegations (by which Yadiel Sánchez was granted a restraining order), his legal case had to be withdraw".

Victim or villain?

It was withdraw, the statement continues “not least because he himself admitted under oath that Ricky Martin had never assaulted him in any way". So, we will have to see what the future holds for the “Livin' la Vida Loca” singer, to see if the is indeed a villain or, as he legal team put it, victim of a “pattern of harassment”.
