Samantha and Carrie were besties in the groundbreaking HBO series, Sex and the City. But their real life relationship is not a case where art imitates life between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Everything came out when Sarah Jessica Parker sent her condolences to Kim Cattrall when her brother died. But her well wishes were met with a snide tweet: I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.
Kim Cattrall insisted in several interviews that her relationship with the cast was solely professional and they had never been friends. She said it was a very healthy place to work because there was a clear line between their professional life and personal life.
Sarah Jessica Parker never indicated there was trouble in paradise. She made that point clear after the HBO series wrapped, and the gang did a few movies. She said she adored Kim Cattrall, and wouldn’t have done the movie without her.
Once Kim Cattrall said she thought that Sarah Jessica Parker was fantastic, a born leader that guides the crew and the cast in such a strong but gentle way, and both of them were sick of the feud the media wanted fans to believe and did not exist at all.
But tensions possibly began during the second season of Sex and the City. Apparently, Sarah Jessica Parker was named executive producer and received a salary bump, which did not sit well with Kim Cattrall.
She tried to negotiate more money, which annoyed the cast and crew. During the Emmy Awards, none of the cast or crew would allegedly sit with Kim Cattrall, that stated she is not friends with Sarah Jessica Parker at all.
